Same here... That's how you know he really put all his strength into it. And honestly, I'm surprised it didn't break and kept functioning. Quite sturdy.

My thoughts exactly. I don't think it was as much of a "stress test" as some dumbass trying to break it and being amazed at its resistence though. In the same vein, here's a picture of a Gameboy that survived a SCUD missile during the Gulf War:

I have no idea how the guy who made that manga scan video did some of those effects there, but yeah ive seen that before, and i like it mainly because its not just the eclipse which every anime video is composed of

its not too complicated. just simple masking and animating, in most cases
