Episode 383

Praying for this sh*t to end ASAP, the quality of the art is awful, of course the pacing of the story is tragically bad, and as stated, where are the others characters of Guts' crew? Of course I won't buy the next volume and I encourage everyone to do the same, let's send them a message...

Seeing that only Daiba and Silat are the only tailgaters for Tsug's peyote journey of self-discovery, it really struck home for me how unrealistic it was for Tsug's friends to completely abandon him throughout his crisis. He was the core of their group, and yet no one lifted a finger to stand up for him or help him through this dillemma, to offer him support and defense. One may say: "They were imprisoned by the Kushan, what could they do?" That did seem to be the circumstance at the start of this set of episodes. But later we see they could roam the city freely and without consequence. Thus, yes they could feasibly have visited him in jail. But if they did, we didn't see it. Farnese, despite her devotion to Tsug for years, did nothing to support him. Serpico, who bonded with Tsug over the journey, is only ever focused on Farnese (or delivering towels). Roderick banged on the door of the Sea Horse's hold for a bit, but that's about it. Isidro did the most of the crew, but it was still pathetic, and he seemed more focused on his own angst than being helpful for Guts.

To be fair, I don't think any visitors is allowed to be near the Stupa.

But I agree this episode is a big mess. The lack of urgency or worry from the rest of Guts' team does not make any sense.

I don't think you read my words very carefully. I joked about a stupa tailgate party, but I was addressing how Guts had already been arbitrarily abandoned by his friends even before we even got to this point. Case in point: No one had visited Guts while he was in jail (except :rakshas: ), and no one seemed to give much of a shit about the core member of their group being imprisoned for no reason.

I suppose I can see how you'd be confused though, since the stupa is effectively the THIRD CELL Guts has been relegated to since the Continuation started, 18 episodes ago—a new cell every 6 episodes! (What’s next, the Supermax equivalent of a stupa? Dare I say it…? A Supastupa?)

But while we’re on the topic, where’d Isidro go? And how are Daiba and Silat right there if, as you're saying, no one is allowed to be near it?

where’d Isidro go?
Packing his bags and getting ready to run away like he did during the Rakshas attack because the continuation sure loves to fuck up characters:schierke:.

On a serious note they probably do this stuff just to make it more dramatic or just to fill up more pages and using Isidro was just to their convenience, same thing with how you see Roderick complimenting Farnese twice in different episodes or Molda saying the same food joke to the gurus. Once they realized they didn't need him anymore they just tossed him out of there and this is probably gonna be what their gonna keep doing, its not like copy and pasting is new to them anyway.

I had a dream earlier this week that i was witnessing Miuras intended story and i was so happy that i was ugly crying.. and then i woke up and i was just depressed. i havent kept up with the continuation because of how bummed out i was. It sounds like im not missing anything special though, sadly. Aazealh's summaries are very much appreciated. i might binge like 10 Skullkasts in a row to catch up with the mourning. Thank you!
