It was never really meant to be "remade" in "comics form".

I don't see why Miura would use that name if not in reference to

From what I've heard, the game was just meant to be a side story, I doubt it's just going to be tossed into the manga all of a sudden, regardless of Niko's "cameo."

I didn't say it wasn't a reference, I'm just sayin he's not necessarily supposed to be the same character, with the same background, etc.

But it was written years before we got there in the manga, so Miura probably decided that he'd take a slightly different path, and that the game simply wouldn't "fit" in the manga storyline as well as it was supposed to...

What would that prove? Sure it could possibly be true, but as Olivier said, there are several discrepancies; too many to make an accurate judgement. :-\
