Main character in this game will be Nero not Vergil or Dante. Looks like where going to play through the perspective of the bad guy.
 
How is one supposed to tell the difference between Dante and Nero?

One wears Red and the other one wears Blue...

Edit: Oh may bad you said Nero not vergil. Heh well Dante wears all red I guess looking at the pics Nero doesn't wear all red.

I wouldn't be surprise if his related to Dante. Dun dun dun long lost brother maybe?  :guts:
 
Nero has a demonic hand that he can use to manipulate his enemies, so that should be fun to toy with. The combo system in this game will be much like DMC3's with only a few improvements here and there that took into account feedback from the players. And Dante's the antagonist this time around apparently.
 
Actually they're being rather coy as to whether Dante is playable or not as they havent said he isnt playable, just that Nero is the main character. Not to mention their is some sort of surprise annoucement they're saving for TGS.

Apparently there is an extremist group centered around the worship of Sparda, Dante and Vergil's father. This group is a focal (or the) point of the game, and they have their own demon fighting group (force?), from which Nero comes. That's what I got from the interview ZODDGUTSU provided.
 
Sounds interesting.

Hopefully Trish shows up in this game. Dante having a possible romantic relationship with a woman who was modeled after his mother. That's pure genius who wouldn't want to see that?

Never played them... I didn't really like the system. I guess I should give them a try one day.. I mean, I like Legacy of Kain, but it's mostly for the plot-line that I play those. Well, that and the voice acting :badbone:
 
Ack, missed this somehow. A few things I can add:

-Dante may be playable, in a Gamespot article one of the folks involved was quoted as saying something along the lines of 'you can play as dante if you want to.'

-The combo system aparently has something to do with Nero's weapon, which has a handle like that of a motor cycle which controls the power. I'd expect something like the Ifrit or Beowulf gauntlets.

-There will aparnetly be a playable demo @ TGS, which is this month I believe. Hopefully we'll get an official trailer too so we can see some of the in game action.

Graphically right now I'm not impressed, but I've learned that screen shots for DMC games rarely do them justice as in motion they're incredible (the game is running at 60 FPS).

I gotta admit I'm still rather hesitant about this game and I'm honestly not sure why.
