I started out trying to use Lithrael's tutorial, but ultimately, I only ended up taking her advice on dividing the image into layers, which admittedly made work more efficient, albeit, more time consuming.

I'm pretty sure we tried to color a chapter once and it was nowhere near finished before the next chapter came out and we were too distracted to continue.
