Rate the Avatar/Sig

I see a lot of great avatars and signatures on this board, and some laughable ones. At the least, people seem to put time and thought into them. I know I spent an hour making mine, and I've never colored anything before so you know I took em seriously. I do plan to change them now and then, whenever I get sick of em.

So, rate the av/sig of the poster before you, and those of others in the thread. Rate them on a scale of 0-10, zero being disturbingly bad, 10 being a masterpiece.

Also, please keep it to people in this thread. By replying you agree to have your set criticized.

Umm I just have a default picture from the boards. I have lyrics as my sig. I don't care too much about my avatar/sig combo although the lyrics and the "love is vengeance" saying mean a lot to me personally.

I will rate sarahofborg with an 8/10.

I give pippin a 5 because they go well together, but otherwise...it's kinda dumb. Humor sigs/avs get annoying fast.

Femto's icon gets a zero cause I know he didn't make it himself, but whoever did gets a nice 8.
The sig gets a 5...I prefer picture ones.

I never said anything about character. I just appreciate a good piece of graphic design when I see it. Doesn't mean the creator is a good piece of humanity. Many great artists are the worst assholes.

Anyhow, I figure it's best to just judge the avs of people in the thread, because by responding you're saying you're willing to take criticism.

This isn't a judgement of their posts, but the avatar they post with. My question is how am I supposed to take their posts seriously when THAT's how they choose to represent themselves?

Consider if Cutesey Anime chick avatar up there proposed a deep and elaborate theory on the inner workings of the Astral World. It'd look pretty stupid next to that bashful, huge-eyed chick. That's all I'm saying. I just don't understand the thought process of some people in their choosing what image represents them.

If anyone remembers Tell Me Why's old "Sanji impersonation" avatar, you'll know what I'm talking about...

Same reason you put on a suit at a job interview. You choose the icon and av that best represents you as you choose to be seen. If you put up an image that doesn't represent you, then you're either trying to be deceitful, you don't know yourself well enough, or you just happen to like that image and think it looks cool (the best reason to choose a set).

10 people is plenty. I'd be happy if I have 3. Anythin's better than nothin. If it's such a boring idea for a thread, might as well just let it die? They can't all be gems, nevermind my first on this board. At least I'm not being flammed.
But it is getting derailed. I sure am good at letting that happen.
On a side note, 19 replies in 2 hours is the fastest I've seen a thread since I got here.

Anyhow, I don't think that people should be judged completely by their avatars, but by the content of their posts. An avatar will sometimes only depict one aspect of a poster's personality or tastes, so I generally prefer to keep an open mind when it comes to that kind of thing. At least that's how I hope people would react to me when I post, since I suppose my avatar is a little out of the ordinary. 8]
