  Glossary

Sooner or later, while watching the series, you are going to encounter a few things that have some sort of significance to the show. The listing below serves to provide to give a reader/viewer a degree of familiarity with the series. There are only a handful listed at the moment but be sure to visit often as I try to include as many items as I get get my hands on to this list.

 Behelit
In the series, this is also referred to as "Ha-ou no Tamago" or literally the "Egg of the King" but a more appropriate translation is "King in the Making". There are two types of Behelit and the one shown on the left is the rarer of the two: the Crimson Behelit. This particular item shows the the bearer is a future God Hand. It is said that in exchange for his flesh and blood, the person who possesses this kind of Behelit will eventually rule the world.

   Behelit (second type)
This is the other type of Behelit reserved for the other disciples of God Hand. Notice that unlike the previous type, this one has an olive green color. Those who possess this item, like the Snake Baron and Roshinu, become rulers of their domain. Like the Crimson Behelit, this has features that look like eyes, a mouth and a nose which re-arrange themselves to form a face when the owner's blood comes into contact with it, summoning God Hand and their disciples in the process.

Dragonslayer
This is Gatts's trademark weapon seen in the first episode of the TV series. This massive sword was forged by his friend Godo and gave it to him after a monster attacked them at Godo's home.
   Doldrey Castle
This castle used to belong to the kingdom of Midland as part of their defense until it was captured by the Chudan Empire during the 100-Year War and had been used as a staging point for attacks against Midland. This fort used to be the headquarters of Governor Gennon until it fell before Griffith's forces.

  Fairy Powder
This powder is actually made of scales or flakes shed by fairies, although none of the characters in the story know this for sure. This is highly regarded for its medicinal powers, healing wounds and ailments much more quickly than other means. This allowed Gatts's wounds to heal in time for the siege of Doldrey castle.

   Fort Brax
This garrison is of strategic importance to Doldrey Castle. When the Hawks captured this outpost, it put Midland's armies within striking distance of the castle, the empire's major stronghold.
  The Seal
Every time God Hand appears to its disciples, a human sacrifice is performed and those slated to be killed are branded by Void with the seal. In the improbable event that the person with the seal ever escapes the ceremony, he will be hunted down for the rest of his life to be devoured by ghosts and monsters. The seal is actually a wound that never heals and bleeds whenever a God Hand disciple is nearby. The scent of the blood then leads them directly to the victim.

  Tower of Rebirth
This is the story's version of the infamous Tower of London. Located within Wyndham Castle, this is where Griffith is imprisoned, tortured and permanently maimed.
  Wyndham Castle
This is the seat of power in Midland and also the residence of its king. Like Doldrey, this castle city is surrounded by two massive walls for protection against attacks.
